Day out with Christina
The day started off with meeting Christina at Punggol to collect our testimonials from the school.
Azraini and Edwin were supposed to join us but we decided to pangseh them and collect our stuff first since they were like super late.
Bought the yummy brownies that Sus used to bring to class from SPC while waiting for sickly Christina who is forever late.
Saw none of the teachers back at Punggol Sec except for Lee weiwei and Tanweilun, so I was abit disappointed, but still, it's a good thing because it saved me alot of unnecessary comments that would be made about my hair, which is 2x longer than before. =.= Damn sick to have teachers telling me off about my hair, it's really none of their business and concern anymore you see.
Proceeded to town afterwards with Chris to hunt for clothes and other stuff since it's THE GSS!
Shopping is therapeutic yo, though I'm not a girl, LOL.
It's a freaking sad thing to have holidays (irony) before everyone else does because while we the design students see our holidays fleet away from us day by day, students from other schools (who happen to be our friends) will be starting theirs soon right after our holidays end!
This means that while we are at our zenith of enjoyment for our long awaited holidays, the other school's students are mugging their minds away for mid sem test. WHICH IS DAMN SAD because other than your own design friends, no one is free to accompany you waste your holidays away.
There are couple of instances where by I jio-ed people out and they have expressed their need to study for their test and attend lessons. Bummer right! But I shall not be sad for which they are not to be blamed. Sigh. I shall enjoy the company of fellow designers to the fullest!
Yes I like to call ourselves designers for all I care because we DESIGN eh eh, we DESIGN.
Anyway, we walked around Wisma and I chanced upon this blue checkered top at Esprit and zomg, it's damn nice. Hell, it was wayyyy too expensive though, so I gave up the idea of purchasing it, but I WILL BE BACK after I saved enough!
Went to Taka and saw this red checkered shirt from Wh which was half-priced cheaper, so I bought it upon the cajoling of my guilt for not buying the blue one. I also bought a shirt and a pair of berms from Giordano. Got 30% discount!
I'm damn happy yo. More shopping next time!
Oh, Christina brought me to Kinokuniya to look at some graphic books and I conveniently bought the legendary Moleskine note book. I shall join the fake, pretentious and coveted elitist journalists who write in extravagant and over-charged notebooks and use the most premium and high end pens.
Speaking of illustration pens, I bought 5 Prismacolour pens for zomg, only 5 dollars. This shop (The Creative Hand, i think) is having this clearance sale at Taka and almost everything in the shop is priced with a discount of over 75 percent. I'm NOT KIDDING. The set of 12 prisma warm Grey colours that Huiyin bought for me for my birthday is now selling at 15 dollars per set. I'm gonna faint. CHEAP UNTIL CAN DIE. SERIOUSLY.
Huiwen, now SWOOOOOOOOOON.
Bought 10 assorted papers for zomg, 2 dollars. YES NOT KIDDING. Sales end in 2 months time, meanwhile you crazy art fiend can go dig at their store for high-end art products at cheap-until-can-die prices.

Today is full of satisfying buys and I'm not ending here. Take my words that I'm gonna buy more stuff! HAHAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, but I'm going broke in no time, so I must like do the Shu Uemura Contest extremely well to get top prize and earn money to buy myself MORE THINGS. HAHAAAA.

Today
My neck hurtzzz. Groans.
I've never felt so fulfilled and accomplished like today in a loooong time because I finally got my lazy self to the pool and exercise seriously. Swimming is great today!
It took me a long time to get over loneliness to get out of my house alone and embark on a companionless trip around the neighborhood.
I took an easy stroll down the road towards Hougang mall after swimming and decided to turn up at Cheng San Library to do some reading. I came across some graphic books that I'm very much in love with and borrowed them with no regards to whether I have time to read them or not. LOL. I have a thing for pretty graphics and I hail those awe- inspiring designers.
Someday.
Yup, maximalism FTW! i looove heavy graphics!
Oh, and I have scraped the idea of participating in the Hugo Boss Design competition off my mind. Yes, ditch it already.
However, I have more plans to execute.
I'm going to establish another online space to share my artworks/design insights/concepts/whatever and to cache all that I have learnt and accumulated during my term of study.
This time is for realz that I'm going to participate in the Shu Uemura Design Competition. Si-y is gonna be our mentor for this competition and I seriously hope that I can make something spectacular. Yay, there's a crash lesson on Illustrator tomorrow by Si-Y and I'm meeting clique again! How fun!
OMG LA, I made like 3 layouts for my online portfolio last year but none of them seem to appeal to me leh! One of them even looks like some resort website, Zomglolz. How! I need something that is representative of myself and with a personal flavor, which is sooo difficult to achieve since I wanna venture into a more professional look. I know it's not impossible to strike a balance but I'm at my wits end.

I was given the comment of the layout (lol, resort-ish) having a lack of focus and that the bad use of fonts (inconsistency) for my title headers spoils the whole organised look. Antagonizing.

I want to break out of the amateur look. But I think something is wrong with the composition which I can't figure. AHHH...
Till I have greater motivation and inspiration to create something better, I'll just wallow in despair and get nothing done to my portfolio site which Rachel, my dearest Queen of all Minions, has promised to host.

Day out/ Ah ma
I'm doing a brief update before I finish up the 10th epi of hana kimi and hit the sack early because TOMORROW GOT DPA OUTING AT SENTOSA. woot! OMG OMG OMG, miss them the dpa-er truckloads. :D
I miss prosperity gang (zomg), I miss T01, I miss everyone from DPA la!!!
Yewhung pm-ed me in the afternoon to say that he, together with his family, is coming back to Singapore from USA for a 4- day visit next friday! OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG, I'm super excited because we haven't met in like zomg, 4 and a half years, and it's almost time some of the PPS people congregate. In the meantime I will do some research and decide on the places we could go when Yewhung comes for holiday. Yay, it's gonna be fun. HAHAA!
I went out with Apple, Jacen and Ivy this evening for dinner. We were supposed to catch a movie but because I need to leave early and there is no more vacant time slots, we decided to just have a dinner at Ajitei. Nice food btw, but I think the curry is abit salty. LOL, digression aside, I had a great time talking nonsense with them. At around 9pm I left the group to religious class.
Oh, past few days were GLs' chalet and DOC BBQ. I kindda had fun with my doc mates and the food was fab.
Some of the freshies and GLs didn't get to eat though, due to the overwhelming attendance and the lack of food. Nevertheless props to the main comm and GLs for being so dedicated and nice to organise this BBQ for us. :D
Last week was grandma's birthday,
She's the ah ma in my photoshoot for DPA's School Discovery assignment!

She was like damn zai during the photoshoot la. I told her I'm gonna take pictures of her doing daily chores and she like totally immersed herself into being the model for the day. I seriously think that those last time companies should commission my ah ma during her younger days for her to pose for their advertisement, like cooking oil, rice, soya sauce, powder rouge or something coz she has this 幸福 aura that can correspond to any kind of homely necessities. LOL. =.=

Otto Outings!
I really really love my Otto GLs and FAs. They are the loves!
I remember the first otto GL I met during my DPA period was APPLE! ( and jingyuan! although she's not from otto. HAHA!). It was vivid that I met her on the bus on the way home from PPP when we're total strangers. Oh and her laughter is like unique until the freshies keep imitating. LOL, I KNOW ITS IRRITATING, BUT IT CAN'T BE HELPED. HUR HUR HUR.
She really brought the whole Otto group (DOTC) together, by contacting everyone, and organizing things, putting them in place. I REALLY REALLY LOVE HER MAN! (apple if u see this post must give me a hug in school okay!)

The FAs really really really super duper rock la. Fiona is like some happy fruit. LOL, translate it however literal if you like, but seriously, I love her spunky and funny attitude, always so caring and full of love for braces kids. HHAHAA!!! Sad thing's that I'm removing them soon! Her laughter is like classic too, full of energy and fun. Oh, not to mention her infamous tak-glam burp and bimbo talk. HAHAA!
She claimed that she's sad coz she never interact with the Otto freshies whilst in camp because she's a facilitator, but she earned herself 2 super-duper-lovely super freshies during DOTC, Jiahui and I! Nehneh, I really love you la! Don't be sad lah okay! HUGS!

Jacen the FA is zomg, full of crap. He and Weixiang are like tag team. Talk alot of cock, funny cock. Sometimes, they're funny, sometimes, they're lame until you can just regurgitate foam and die. Nevertheless, life without them is like pandas taking photograph (no colour, LOLzx) coz they have so many interesting stories to tell. MOI ROCKS LEH!

Camping with these seniors during the DOTC was the horror. I mean, Jiahui and I were super blur (and super fresh, lol) and being blur gives you the disadvantage of being excluded by the seniors. But to my utter surprise, the group really include us as part of them during the camp and it really warmed my heart to know that design seniors are the best people on earth. Omg, really!
DOTC was almost like an orientation for me because I felt so guided and secured with those seniors having fun with me in a totally new environment. The super freshies were really well-taken care of!
Getting to know all these wonderful people helped me cope with the stress that I have of studying in a brand new environment. DOTC was really THE BOMB. OTTO DAMN ZAI.

TOMORROW NO SCHOOL!
WAH, can you see me hyperventilating!!!
There's no need to wake up early tomorrow, because there's no school!
Bina decided that we go into our own research groups and do our project OTOT, and Si-y spared us from too many lessons because I think there's not much to deliver to the class about drawing besides shapes, shading, composition, movement, etc etc. and due to the fact that everyone concentrated on commDI (project dued tuesday), we somehow neglected drawingESS, hence, we have shown no progression in our work, so what for attend lessons with no work to show, right?

School ended like 12.30 today, LOL, barely 30 mins after drawESS lesson started ok.
Zhou, Celeste and I scurried to Cityhall to do some building drawings after school, and I took them to the Singapore Museum to draw its exterior. Thank the heavens above that we manage to find the place, because its been a long time since I went there. So we went there to feed mosquitos, and Celeste claimed that she smelled dogshit the whole while drawing. LOL. Maybe it's Zhou who smells like dogshit. HAHAHAAAA!!!!!
Gawd, is was so tedious to detail the sketches, but gladly, my perspective was pretty allright. It's not easy k! Deep concentration is highly essential. Anyways, I managed to complete like half of it... tomorrow then complete the sketch, and ink it as well.
There's a book fair held outside canteen just now, and its ending tomorrow, so I'm contemplating whether to get these 2 super cool graphic books which cost like 55 dollars each after discount. Wow, money.
I'm so tempted, coz the artworks are super yummy!!! One thing about reading those graphic materials is that I have no spare time leh... I borrowed Computerarts like last week and I havent touch it. Next week due leh!
But another thing is, I'll need those books whenever I'm running out of design ideas or having an artist's block. Okay, I think I'm thinking a bit too far since I'm just doing my fundamentals only, but those books really satisfy my visual hunger. I need to be impressed, like, now.
Oh yes, I haven't been keeping up with jr_nal too. It's even saddening that I dun even have time to update my own journal. No, it's not an excuse to say "I have no time", but seriously, I really don't. (Even though i have like the full set of Prisma Grey Colours given by HY and gang for my Bday. Now Huiwen, Swoooooooon.) And I haven't keep up with the purchase of Copic Markers because I have no money. However, since I have no time to journal, I'll have no use for those markers. Hence, I'll stop splurging.
Money is really an issue with me right now. I can't bear to part with money, but I can't help spending them all. I seriously have no talent in keeping track of where my cash or loose change go. Anyways, I was being a good kid by rejecting my mum's offer of buying me the dearest Macbook pro which cost 4k after inclusion of all relevant softwares. Sigh.
Being a poor design student like me is quite a shame la, can't afford this and that. I'm abit sian that I haven't got my tools of trade ready. However, Nevermind the extravagant softwares, nevermind the overrated macbooks, nevermind the costly DSLRs, nevermind the money, I will work hard and depend nothing on anything like that.
Oh, I've decided to participate in the int'l HugoCreate design competition. Top prize is delicious (500 US-$). But I dunno if I can make the mark, but I'll try!

i'm so freaking sick and i have to go school ON SATURDAY, for APEL. wah liao. i know sicne its the last week of apel i shouldn't complain but tmd, I can afford to pon today to see the doctor because we've got group presentation. lol, wth right. And I think there is a test today or something.
APEL is like freaking CME.
Oh, the vice.
I need the doctor badly...
But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
Hence, I will pull through today's shitty lesson. Yay!

Eric is sick!
I'm having a freaking back and neck ache, sore throat, runny nose, painful eye, cough, sore feet and a freaking tired mind.
It didn't take me a long time to type that despite of this excruciation I have to go through since FOC.
Okay, so I have drawn 2 and a half chillies and a garlic on my A3 paper using a technique called pointillism.

I almost died..... 1 and a half hour to submission, so I gotta chiong now. After DrawingEss later, I have some dumb APEL meeting. Fuck.
I'm feeling so miserable now.
