The logo illustrates a Vanda Miss Joaquim embedded in the five Olympic Coloured stripes. This logo captures the dynamism of the Olympic spirit and the formality of the Olympic event through the vertical motion of the coloured stripes.

This multi-coloured logo also symbolizes our vibrant youth culture while the integration of the Olympic colours with our Singapore Icon signifies our congeniality with the rest of the world.

Our national flower, Vanda Miss Joaquim, is a popular icon of our country and with it being the focus in the logo plainly informs the audience that the Inaugural Youth Olympic Games in 2010 is going to be held in Singapore.

The reason why the National Flower is used as a predominant element of the logo is because, firstly, it identifies Singapore fittingly, and secondly it’s resilient nature embodies the young athletes’ unwavering determination and pursuit for excellence in all aspects of life.

Saturday, August 30, 2008 Happy Teachers' Day! Half of yesterday was spent going back PSS to meet up my friends and teachers and the other half was spent on submitting my logo at TP, which was a failure because of some stupid server error. I eventually did the submission at home. Woke up with a ultra good mood and took 136 down to punggol. Went up the hall and met alot of people, many of them who have grown and changed so much since the last time I saw them. Didn't find alot of teachers to talk to because I am tired of another lecture of my hair, -.-, and I didn't have much time to search for teachers all over the school just to talk to them. Another major reason was that one quarter of the population of teachers that I know have left their job in PSS, so what I saw yesterday was alot of new faces. Sigh. Well, more teachers are leaving, and I think by next year I won't see a need to go back to school again. I STILL HAVE MY WONDERFUL FRIENDS AND CLASSMATES THOUGH! Oh yes, I had so much fun in school with them la. I have this thing I wanna blog about, but it's so difficult to put them in words given my limited vocab. LOL still, I'll try. Don't read coz i think it's damn lengthy and b0ring, scroll down for pictures if you want. ********** Most of the teachers whom I've talked to realized a drastic change in me and they said that I'm a happier person who seeks to having fun in everything I do, having fun especially in a design school. I am so please to hear this and the conversation that I had with these teachers were endearing because I've finally let down my inhibition and shown them the less- ceremonious Eric who I was afraid to portray in the past. I didn't feel comfortable allowing my frankness to manifest in secondary school last time because I felt I need to carry myself to be a student of good calibre and disposition. However in the midst of doing so, scoring good grades and proving my capability as a student and as a Headprefect, I somehow lost my own sense of individuality. I wasn't truly happy because I had to put up a front that I'm totally into the situation of pleasing the teachers with my acquired disposition. NOT THAT I AM FAKING ANOTHER PERSONALITY OUT OR TRYING TO BE A TEACHERS' PET, but I felt that there was a need to impress my teachers. Slowly, I realised I wasn't truly satisfied and teachers did not fully understand me. This is somehow why I am still not close with some of the teachers even though they taught us for many many many years. Then I came back to school one day (during speech day like last last last week) with an unexpected dressing style and many of the teachers thought I was suffering a crisis or a blow or something that caused such a drastic change in myself. LOL. (except for Shanmugan who thought I came out from a jungle, -_-) Anyway, some of the teachers made comments that Punggol Sec have suppressed the other side of myself and it was time to unleash it after leaving school. Mdm Sunarti was like, RAWR. HAHA DAMN FUNNY. I think she's super funloving although she's never taught me before. Mrs Lau did notice my change too and she felt happy for me, because I'm finally doing what I love in TPDS and not mugging hard for promos at some stupid Junior College. HAHA! Ms Siow WAS IN SHOCK AND TRAUMA WHEN SHE SAW ME AND WAS SCREAMING AT ME LIKE, WHO DID THIS TO MY BOY, WHERE IS MY ERIC????? WHERE YOU STUDY NOW?
